Faces Help

Import to Collage:

Import to collage when you want the faces found in your photos to be added straight to the collage.

Clicking on Import to Collage will open your default file browser (Finder on Mac OSX), select the photos you want and click Add to Collage.


The photos will be automatically scanned for faces, the recognized faces will be added straight to the main collage window.


Import to Basket:

Import to Basket when you want the faces to be added to the basket so you can choose which ones to use as you are designing your collage.

Clicking on Import to Basket will open your default file browser (Finder on Mac OSX), select the photos you want and click Add to Basket.
The your photos will be automatically scanned for faces, the recognized faces will be added to the Basket.


Zoom:



Zoom to Fit

Clicking on Zoom to Fit will resize the collage to make it fit in the collage window, this is useful when you want to see what the whole collage looks like.

Zoom slider

Moving the Zoom slider will increase (slide to right) or decrease (slide to left) the size of each face in the collage and show the actual size as it will be exported, useful for seeing the details of the faces and for working with Effects.

Columns:



Columns slider

Moving the Columns slider will increase (slide to right) or decrease (slide to left) the number of columns in the collage, the rows will be automatically calculate based on the numebr of columns.

Columns buttons

You can also adjust columns be adding or removing one column at a time using the + and - buttons, the rows will be automatically calculate based on the numebr of columns.

Save / Export:



Image type

Select from one of the image types you wish to export your collage/faces as.

JPEG Quality

If exporting as JPEG you can choose the quality of the exported image from Highest to Low, choose lower quality only if file size is important, otherwise best to keep the quality high.

Save collage

Save collage will open your default file browser (Finder on Mac OSX) where you can name your collage file and choose where to save it.

You can resize the collage before you save it by changing the Collage resize Width x Height, the values are in pixels

Save faces as separate files

Save faces as separate files will open your default file browser (Finder on Mac OSX) where you can select the location where your faces will be saved to, each face will be saved as a seperate file named based on the original photo from where the face was found, the number of the face in that photo and _Faces for example: myphoto_1_Faces.jpg

You can resize the collage before you save it by changing the Collage resize Width x Height, the values are in pixels

Edit Collage:



Border width

Adjust the width of the borders between the faces using the Border slider.

Border color

Clicking Border color will open the defult color chooser, select the colour you want and click OK to apply that color to the collage border.

Move faces

You can move any face to another place in the collage by clicking, holding and draging the face and releasing (dropping) it in the new position.

Send face to Basket

The selected face will have a sent to basket icon clicking on it will sent the face to the Basket and remove it from the collage (you can restore it from the Basket if you changed your mind).

Duplicate face

The selected face will have a duplicate face icon clicking on it will duplicate/copy that face and add it to the bottom of the collage.


Basket:



The Basket stores all the faces that were added to the Basket during import or that were sent to the basket from the collage.

All to Collage

Moves all the faces in the Basket to the collage.

Clear Basket

Permanently deletes all faces and removes them from the Basket.

Permanently delete a face

Clicking on the delete face button will permanently delete the face and remove it from the Basket

Restore face

Clickng on the restore face button will send the face back to it's place in the collage

Effects:

Use effects to create beautiful and artistic collages.

Select all faces

When all faces are selected, the effects will be applied to all the faces.

Undo last effect

Will undo the last effect that was applied to the face/s.

Reset

Reset all effects on the selected face/s and return the face to the original state.

Balance

Applies a smart balance the the color and contrast of the face


Contrast

Increase the contrast of the selected face/s


Sharpen

Sharpens the face photo, useful for when the photo is slightly out of focus


Blur

Applies a blur effect to the face.


Clean

Cleans and smooths the selected face/s, useful when the face photo is grainy or low quality


Dilate

Increases the light areas of the photo


Erode

Increases the dark areas of the photo


Gray

Transform the photo into grayscale


Negative

Transform the photo into negative


Posterize

Adds an artistic posterize effect to the image


Trace

Adds an artistic trace of the image outlines
